MBE is a company-level ownership/diversity certification. MBEs are eligible for benefits such as increased recruitment of minorities, better access to federal contracts and grants, higher likelihoods of being awarded bids on government projects because businesses that comply with the minority requirement have been shown to be more successful than those who do not.

MBE stands for Minority Business Enterprise which means it’s an organization owned by people from different ethnic backgrounds including African Americans, Native Americans, or Asian Americans among others. Eligibility varies depending on the issuer but generally requires that a business meet certain qualifications like having at least 51% owners meeting this criterion in order to qualify themselves as MBEs and enjoy benefits such as increased representation within their industry (more visible) when looking.
